Description - Homestay

The medieval village of Borgo Panicaglia is a unique castle from 1266. At an altitude of 800 meters, with a view over the Umbrian mountains, you will have an extraordinary and beautiful experience. It is a place with a peaceful atmosphere where you will not only relax and enjoy yourself, but where you can also participate to wine tastings, truffle huntings, cooking classes or Italian language lessons. Just relax! Take a dip in the pool or read a book on one of the lounge beds.

The space
We want people of all ages to feel like home in Borgo Castello Panicaglia. While you enjoy a delicious glass of Italian wine, we ensure that the children also have the time of their lives. In addition to a swimming pool and playground, activities for children are organized throughout the week during school holidays. Outside the school holidays, Borgo Castello Panicaglia is not only the perfect place for weddings, yoga weeks, cycling and walking holidays, but also for a romantic and culinary weekend away for two.

Neighbourhood overview
Umbria is called the green heart of Italy. An appropriate name when you consider the hills covered with forests and the fields full of vines and olive trees. But Umbria is more than just green. Fields full of yellow flowering lentil plants, red poppy fields, blue lakes, rivers and mountain streams. And in the fall, of course, the beautiful red, orange and brown colours of the trees. Umbria has no fewer than eight national parks and although it is not on the sea, it does have a lot of water. Lake Trasimeno, the largest lake in central Italy, the river Tiber and of course the largest waterfalls in Italy, Cascate delle Marmore. This overwhelming natural beauty and the favorable weather conditions make this region very suitable for outdoor activities. In addition to walking and cycling, you can also go rafting, windsurfing, horse riding and hang gliding. The medieval towns and villages with monasteries and churches bring the rich cultural history of Umbria to life. You should not miss a number of cities in the area during your stay at Borgo Castello Panicaglia. Visit beautiful Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Norcia and Spoleto. In addition, Umbria is fantastic for walkers, cyclists and families with children.
